Controversy over model being dropped for being "too fat"
Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 11:32AM
A seriously distorted image of Fillippa used to advertise Ralph Lauren in Tokyo
The Times reported on 15th October 2009 that a Ralph Lauren model, Filippa Hamilton, is claiming that she has been dropped by the brand after six years working with them because she was supposedly too heavy and couldn't fit into the company's sample sizes. A size 8 too heavy?

DISGUSTING!!!
And do designers (particularly male ones) have mirrors in their homes - Ralph Lauren is no oil painting.
I've heard plenty of little lies saying you can't be curvy/healthy as a size 0 but it's really not true, it all depends on height. I'm short and I'm sure that a size 1 would still work well with me but anything more than that might be UNHEALTHY for me due to proportion issues. If you're really tall then you SHOULD have more weight on you than some one who's short.
However, I think that the author of this article left out the fact that the model was a size 4 in US sizes, which is a size 8 in UK... which... for Americans if you leave out that tiny little fact then yeah, size 8 sounds pretty large compared to the size four that the model really is.
Thanks isn't enough for all you have done for the people.
